The City of Mount Pleasant Parks and Recreations Department's mission is to enhance the quality of life for the Mount Pleasant community through a well planned and maintained system of public parks, facilities and recreation programs. The Department will continually strive to offer a balanced park and recreation system recognizing the need for both active and passive recreation including the preservation of the natural environment. Through proper vision, the Parks and Recreation Department will offer public parks, facilities and programs that meet the leisure needs for the citizens of Mount Pleasant in the present and in the future.

The Mount Pleasant City Council will meet Wednesday, August 13 at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall.

City Compost site located behind Saunders Park is open for the season.  Hours of operation are Wednesdays 1-6 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information go to 'view all announcements' below.

Sanitary sewer smoke testing will be performed in the area of N. White St. from the railroad tracks north to Second St. and east to Lincoln St. on Aug. 6th and 7th. Call 385-1480 for questions or you experience smoke in your house.
