The City of Mount Pleasant is taking applications for the position of Building and Zoning Administrator. The position is responsible for interpreting and enforcing city regulations and codes including building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, property maintenance, fire safety, energy and accessibility. Individual is also responsible for administering the city zoning regulations. B.A. in related field, two years college or technical school degree in related field with three (3) years of related experience, or five (5) or more years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Applicant must obtain ICC or equal certification as Building Inspector within eighteen (18) months after hire. Applicant must possess State of Iowa driver’s license. Salary is $50,000 – $75,000 depending on qualifications. City of Mount Pleasant is an EOE.

NOTICE TO FILL VACANT WARD IV MOUNT PLEASANT CITY COUNCIL SEAT BY APPOINTMENT

The City of Mount Pleasant has a vacancy on the City Council with the resignation of Ward IV Councilperson Jeff Batty.  The City

intends to fill the vacancy by appointment at the Wednesday, May 22 City Council Meeting.

Eligible electors of Ward IV of the City of Mount Pleasant interested in being appointed should submit a resume and cover letter

The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking part-time seasonal help with our outdoor maintenance that will work in our community parks, Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
